Follow Friday: The Spawn Point Blog

unnamed

TGIF my friends! It may be the end of the week for all but you know what else it is? Yes it is Follow Friday!

And today I want to take some time to urge all of you to follow my favorite gaming blog created by my good friend Kahlief Adams. In 2011 he went all in and started The Spawn Point Blog not only as an online hub to discuss every facet of the gaming industry and video game culture but it was done with a different twist. Although TSP cover’s games and stories related to them the site is definitely targeted towards what Adams and many like him deem are people who are underrepresented in the industry who are referred to as minorities; but most certainly are not if you do the math and research. While Adams and TSP’s chief emphasis is on People of Color (POC) within the gaming industry the two have not declined to celebrate other members of the community and has been very inclusive.

The site also houses the The Spawn On Me podcast hosted by Adams & Cicero Holmes. It is a weekly video gaming podcast for a mature gaming audience. Since its inception Spawn On Me has treated its listeners to some very special guests:

Dave Fennoy (The Walking Dead, The Game: Season 1, The Wolf Among Us)
Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters: The Game)
Daniel Kayser (Former host of Game Trailers/GTTV)
Lisa Brown (Insomniac Games – Lead Developer – Slow Down Bull)
Mike J Mika (Other Ocean lead developer – #IDARB)
Danny Pena (Founder & Co-Host of GamerTagRadio podcast)
Drew Murray (Insomniac Games – Game Director – Sunset Overdrive)

Spawn On Me recently launched the #Spawn4Good platform in order to promoted engagement social justice issues via gaming.

Between January 17th and 18th of this year the platform was able to succeed in meeting a $5,000 donation goal that went to the family Eric Garner and the New York Lawyers Guild.

TSP and TSPMe has managed to garner the following press clippings:

I am proud not only to be a friend of Kahlief but also a fan of his blog for the overall efforts being made. Again I want all of you who follow my blog to take a look and follow TSP. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

That is all for now folks, until next time. Always remember if you can’t, you must!
